Growing up I was obsessed with country music. Earliest memories include Dolly Parton’s “Romeo” at any jukebox I could find. In high school I almost exclusively performed Dixie Chicks, Jo Dee Messina and Faith Hill. I’m not sure when I really stopped listening to country music consistently, maybe after moving to Chicago, with the lack of car, but lately on my car trips I’ve found myself turning to my country Spotify lists more often than not. There are just some great summer jams I’ve had on repeat- Somethin’ Bad, Play it Again, American Kids and my fave at the moment, “Drunk on a Plane." Swoon. Getting back to my country roots? Don’t mind if I do!
A long-awaited event, after a day of lounging and watching the air show, it was finally time for the Walker-Stat Wedding. Taylor was the true definition of stunning, and words can’t describe how beautiful the event was- from the exchange with her fathers, the vows, father of the bride toast and the hora… every moment was filled with love and excitement.
These two are so lucky not just have each other, but everyone that was there to celebrate. So very blessed to have these two in my life, they set such a great example of what a relationship, wedding and I’m sure marriage should be. Also, late night chicken and waffles and Chicago dogs? Perfection. I’m just sad I didn’t get better pictures!
After a long day of working, prepping (hair and salon appts are stressful y’all) and waiting, it was time for Ship & Christi’s Birthday Pickle Party. Amazing view, my favorite people, a Bieber pinata, lots of laughs. Doesn’t get much better than this. A little overserved and waaaay too many photos later, it was such a great evening, I wish we could do it all over again! Next year…
This weekend was so epic, each day deserves its own post. Here goes.
The Kellogg’s outing to Gull Lake. Gorgeous day to sit outside with clients, admire the water, play lawn games and
go exploring get out of really awkward situations. Definitely would love to go on the lake one day, it looked beautiful and I hear they throw a mean pirate party!
Followed by the final TMA softball game. Our fearless leaders were kind enough to gift us awards, and I was fortunate they went easy on me. Obviously the night ended with chicken fingers, tots, really bad beer and team shenanigans. Will miss this crew over the next nine months, till next year! That is, if I’m asked back after this year :)
Mrs. Walker!!!! 🎂👰👯👏💋❤️ (at Room 1520)
Ain’t no party like a pickle party. HBD ladies! #ballsohard
Not a terrible Thursday. #notwater #notquitehooky (at Kellogg Manor House)
Words can’t express how excited this makes me. Already reading up on the team, their practices and thinking about all of the madness that ensues come October. I just hope we perform in Indy as well as we did in Chicago last year. Chills!
I love the Champions Classic. Mostly because it brings my Jayhawks super close for me to go watch them play!! Last year in Chicago, this year in Indy!! Road trip for WBB, LJW and I! Can’t wait!
I’ve just been reminded through so many things lately that some of the best decisions I’ve made in life have been complete leap of faiths and have always worked out for the best. Sending happy thoughts to all of those on the verge of making those same moves. Makes me crave for change of my own!
River Roast: Good lunch experience! Delicious bread, kitchen in the center of the restaurant, not a lot of vegetarian options (fail by me), but really good from start to finish- check out that Elvis pie! The old Fulton’s space is totally gone- the restaurant is on the lower level and gorgeous. Definitely check it out!
